I am having problems with the videos sotfwares that i am using. I am trying to split files in 10 minutes interval but the programs i found recompiles(i dont know if this is the right term) video into new codec, which takes alot of time. I was wondering if any of you guys know any good split software that doesnt change the codec when spliting it.
Also i am looking for a watermark program. The one i have also recompiles the video, and i am only able to put in 1 video at a time. And when the video dimension is different i have to adjust the size of the watermark. A program that takes few videos at a time and able resize the font according to dimensions of the video would be just fine. i tried over 20 programs and non of them did this. Please help me!!

Virtualdub can be used to cut video on key-frames without re-encoding, but if you split between key-frames then it will re-encode. It works for most AVI stored codecs. Some versions can also read and split mpg video, but will re-encode.
You could look at avidemux as another alternatrive.
Virtualdub can also be used to watermark video (there is a guide in the guides section). You must re-encode if you add a watermark to a video. All software will do this.
If the video is mpeg then things are a little better, with several free and payware programs able to cut anywhere in the stream, but only re-encode the few frames required to repair the cut GOP.Read my blog here.
