    @If someone will ask:
    - I have no affiliation with this company or the authors of ''Any Video Converter'', I just stumbled upon this software on Download.com searching for a free video converter.
    - One other note: since it uses MPLAYER/MENCODER to work i think it can convert more than described above and i hope a specialist to try it and tell us exactly what files can convert and what can not.

    Nope, nada, nothing, it's perfectly clean. Scanned my pc with Ad-Aware, SpySweeper & Spybot and nothing bad comes out, i'm sure it's 100% clean.

    The name rings a bell... from a couple of years ago or so.

    EDIT: no, it can't be. This one was first released last September...

    Any Video Converter 1.02 is great as it's one of the converters that can do RMVB. However it did SOME of my RMVBs, but others it crashed.

    I just realised Any Video Converter 1.02 uses an out-dated mplayer/memcoder so I'll try updating these 2 files and try my RMVBs again.

    Last night I tried memcoder & mplayer updating Any Video Converter. Didn't work. I suspect Any Video Converter changed the source of mplayer/memcoder.

    PS: Doesn't GPL Open Source license says if you change the source and wish to distribute your changes you must distribute the source too? Otherwise you break rules. Like TrustyFiles (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TrustyFiles). Can't believe no one has done anything about TrustyFiles... while TrustFiles rake in cash by stolen open-source codes from multiple sources.

    It isn't unusual for frontends to tie themselves to specific versions of the backend routines. SUPER is a frontend to mencoder and ffmpeg, amongst others, however each release is tied to a specific version of these programs, and you can't just alter them at will.
