Hello All,
I am just finishing up building a projector and I would like to be able to watch the movies I have in their native resolution.
My LCD panel is set at 1024x768 and this is how I want it. When I watch a dvd movie, however, I want the movie to be 720x480 (no resizing), but I don't want it to be in a window..I want everything around it to be blacked out. The reason I'm wanting this is because I used a short throw lens and it makes the picture get VERY big very fast when moving the projector away from the screen. Having the movie stay in it's native res. I can move the projector further from my screen and keep the image smaller as well as not have it stretched out to fit the "fullscreen" mode.
I was told zoomplayer can do this..I downloaded it and messed around with the aspect ratio settings but I could not get it to do what I wanted..any ideas?

Use zoom player and press on the Z-button(zoom mode) and then use the scroll-button on your mouse to zoom-out the picture. You can also set the zoom mode to 720z480 under Playback->Video->Presets and set it 720x480 and press Store preset and then when you zoom it should stay at 720x480 with black borders.
