    I realize I just updated an old thread, but here we are. My question is simple. How does one extract a subtitle file from mkv? the file I have has 2 subtitles tracks (according to VLC: SSA and SRT). Ideally I'd like to convert the mkv to avi with the srt subs imbedded in one step, but if it has to take an additional step of extracting the sub file first, so be it.

    Use iMkvextract to easily extract any track form an mkv file.
