    I recorded onto a DVD-RW using another machine and I can't get it to play on my Philips DVP3040. When I load the DVD into the machine I see a folder and that's as far as I can get. The manual doesn't specify that the machine can play this type of disk but according to this site and other on-line info it should play it. I was hoping to do some editing from machine (DVD-RW) to machine (DVD-R).

    Any siggestions? Thanks.

    How was the disc recorded? Is it in data or dvd video format? What exactly are you trying to do?
