    I have Aegisub and as you know it creates .ass subtitles and is specifically designed to do so, you can export the .ass to .ssa but lose some of the override tags like {\pos(350,250)}
    I would like to keep the .ass subtitles and be able to encode them onto an .avi file.

    I just need someone's help to tell me if there is any software that will let me use .ass files onto .avi's and how i should use that software, i know virtualdub doesn't allow it.

    I would not like anyone to tell me to use substation alpha as I just learnt how to get around Aegisub and doing that again would mean that weekend was a waste

    If there isn't a solution then thanks anyways for the contribution guys

    Install Vobsub and you can use ASS (or SSA or SRT) subtitles in VDUB or Avisynth.
    http://avisynth.org.ru/docs/english/externalfilters/vsfilter.htm

    And visit http://forums.animesuki.com/. They do really wacky stuff with ASS there.
