Speaking of Apple suits, I'm surprised Apple Corp. (of Beatles fame) haven't sued over the change of name of Apple Computer to Apple Inc.
I'm pretty sure they've consistently sued over all the other times that Apple has stepped on their toes...

Apple thinks its immune from the law. After all you don't see Jobs indicted for his backdating options like other CEOs

Just like Microsoft, a convicted felon, thinks it is immune.

No, you see Steve Jobs under Federal investigation:

"So far he has not spoken about it publicly, but Apple's leader faces mounting federal scrutiny of his role in how the Cupertino maker of Macintosh computers and iPod digital music players handed out stock options to key employees and executives. The Securities and Exchange Commission and the U.S. attorney's office are probing whether current and former Apple executives and directors committed fraud by backdating options to increase their value. Apple is also the target of a shareholder lawsuit."

Microsoft has never been convicted of anything. It settled all actions against it in the USA.

Jobs has apparently not received the famous letter advising him that he is under investigation. The SEC and U.S attorney statements are surmise by reporters at this time.

With less info available than the Al Gore/Apple report, other CEOs have been indicted. We'll see what happens.

Apple is a media/big investors darling and they have no immediate interest in shaking the stock they are all so heavily invested in.
Doesn't look like Cisco will give up the name which they rightfully own and Apple will have to settle for big bucks if they want to keep what they stole.

I recall this... They settled for millions and, if I recall correctly, they were permitted to continue using the Apple name as long as they never get into the music business... Don't know where it stands considering iTunes, iPod, etc....

Gonna search Google and see what I can find...
