I'm so sick of getting stuck with shitty crappy DVD cases that are supposedly of high quality. I just bought a case load from supermediastore, the double DVD cases. It came in a box from Linkyo. This is the most piece of crap case I've ever owned next to the slim cases I also got from supermediastore last year. This thing man... It's so flimsy. When you close or open it, it doesn't have that snap or lock that lets you know its closed to open. The hub where you put the disc on, it doesn't even give that good clicking sound when you place a disc on it. When you want to release it by pressing a button it doesn't even make a sound and you can't even get it off without using two hands. It's like all of them are jacked up. One side of the case it locks pretty easily with a slight snap to let u know it's some what secure and when you press it it pops up somewhat. On the other side of the same case(on ALL the cases) when you want to put the disc on, it makes no sound to little sound and feels cheap. When you press the button to pop it up it doesn't even pop or make a snap sound because the ring or whatever that holds the disc is like so small it doesn't even pop up thats when you gotta use two hands. It's like this on all the damn cases. I tried putting some discs I don't care about and doing some tests. I'd do a simple test of holding the case up in the air and dropping it on carpet. Almost all of them snap open and the disc falls out and scrambles all over inside the cases. AND that problem happens on the side of the case where it doesn't lock very well or release with a snapping pop up. This piece of crap is very unstable and very just crappy. It's not even balanced properly. When you pile 1 case on top of eachother, it's not flat, its got like a slight opening between the 2 cases. If I flip it over to the other side then it's flat. I mean what the hell is this. When I look at the 2 discs locked on each side of the case inside, on 1 side I can see the disc edge is leveled to the round casing that houses it, but on the other side where it doesn't have that snap or pop up when you push the button, it's leveled higher above the round housing part. I bought a 100 of these exact same crap from supermediastore last year in the same Linkyo box and it worked awesome. It has none of the problems I have with these. I even did the test on it of dropping it on the carpet and everything stood in place and the case didn't even open. That was a solid batch. I don't know if this is a defect because there are no broken parts, I think it's just a jacked up ghettofied design. I'm sick of having bulks of crappy cases I can't even use thats just sitting here. What a waste of money. I can't do an RMA because they'll charge me 15% restocking feee and make me eat all the S/H charges. Why the hell should I pay for S/H when it's their fault for giving me some crappy ass cases? Talk about inconsistency. It's basically a gamble when you order anything from these online places...
So, where can I go to get RELIABLE HIGH QUALITY double DVD cases at reasonable prices? please help me.

I get mine here Effectuality good quality and you can get box set cases as well

Sell the crap ones on eBay and get some of your money back at least. That way they are not sitting around your house taking up space and gathering dust.
If you find some decent ones, let us know the brand and where you bought them. -
Here's my rules...
Shop4Tech.com for DVD Cases in the 4 and 6 disc variety
( they snap shut, and their 4's are 6's without the double
side insert, so you can always upgrade them if need be)
Supermediastore for DVD Media only (TY and TDKs).
For single slims, go to Sam's Club ( in store or online).
They have Verbatim slims for 50/$13, and they are sturdy sob's.
always snap on ring, never slip a disc like the Memorex branded
ones I use to use."Everyone has to learn, so that they can one day teach."

I like tapeandmedia.com
They ship fast, have reasonable quanity requirements. Media prices can be beat, but the single & convertible to double cases are very nice.[/url] -
Just order from rema.com best prices, fast shipping for less than others and great customer support.

These are nice double cases:

The M-Lock system works nice, I think it is the Amaray Premium (or is it the Amaray II) cases that use them. I have ordered these before, and they are good quality, as are their triple+ M-Lock cases. Some people say dog is mans best friend. I say that man is dog's best slave... I have a similiar thread for slim dvd cases. I should get my cases from effectuality.com today. I ordered some from Neato.com and so far they are good quality cases. i just got those Monday. So far those are the best ones ive had. My ranking with what ive used so far with slim line cases is
1) Neato
2) Tapeandmedia.com
I dont like Meritline at all. -
Are these here any good?
http://www.american-digital.com/prodsite/product.asp?p=2029&c=1967&name=DVDCase-BlackDoubleSpiderHub
I bought some of the M-Lock versions from them before and they snapped on nicely and wasn't flimsy, you could still move the disc around in circles while its locked. My other cases that I like so much, once you snap the disc on the hub, you can't move the disc around in circles unless you reeally tried. -
I'm about to place an order for American-Digital for the spider hub double dvd case. Tried ordering a 100pk for 12.90 something and the minimum is 25 bucks so I added another 100. The S/H is 16.64 for the cheapest media mail. Can anyone confirm that these spider hub versions that they have are good quality? Because the one I got from supermediastore has the same spider hub system.
Know of any coupons by the way? -
Strongbad thats why i didnt order because of the $25.00 min. Im happy with the neato ones i got but they are more expensive. $40.00 is alot of money to try something that i dont know they are 100% good quality

strongbad: I recommend Effectuality. I live in Canada, and they have a Canadian Division. If you are like me and don't have Paypal or a Credit Card, they will do business by money order or bank draft as well. The DVD cases I have bought from them have been of excellent quality. I am very pleased with the DVD cases I have bought from Effectuality. Also the customer service is second to none. I like getting the cases that hold ten DVD's, they don't take up much room, and I really think they are neat. I read about Effectuality at "digitalfaq.com, and I am really glad I did.

Polylinecorp.com Professional supplier with locations in CA and IL. High quality best price. I have been dealing with them for years. Used to get VHS sleeves from them. I buy a DVP1201B-100. It is a black single. Shipping is higher that you might think. Min order applies - $100. I buy several cases at a time. Great place for paper sleeves also.

i just bought some from shop4tech to try them out. it's better than the ones i got from supermediastore. the hub locking is a lot more secure but the opening and closing of the case is just as flimsy. By the way can chemical smells harm the DVD's? Because these cases from shop4tech when you open them have a foul factory chemical type of scent to it.
-
strongbad,
no chemical SMELLS cannot harm them, but chemical LIQUIDS can.
I never had have any cases from Shop4tech arrive smelling bad..
did you order the 7mm/14mm sizes, or the huge book type 28mm
sizes?
The 28mm book sizes ( 6 disc, 8 disc, 10 disc) are notoriously bad
in trying to close them, and can often ship where they don't close.
for that reason, I stick primarily with the 14mm 6 disc cases,
that and the inserts that make them six disc can be removed
and volia, you have their version of the 14mm 4 disc case.

Are the cases that you purchased from supermediastore.com the premium ones?

My Sam's club has boxes of 50 slim cases for $12. They are solid, sturdy, and the outer plastic cover is thicker and more durable than most. They are a brand name, I can't remember which brand, but it like Maxell or Verbatim or one of those popular brands.
-
Probably Verbatim as on the site. I'll have to check my Sam's club as well. I already ordered 25 from zipzoomfly.com though.

lol. supermediastore just shipped my order. Ordered it on the 17th, will arrive on the first of August. Pathetic. If I ever order from there again, I will give them a call to make sure everything is going right.

I was wondering what program you all use to make your slimline dvd case covers?
And what you use to make your double DVD case inserts with, are they just the normal size case just with 2 discs are are they a little bit bigger?
I am desperately trying to find a program to make slim covers, but I want a program that you can move all pictures not just click background and it make the entire cover the same color, i use expressit and you can rotate the pictures.
please someone help me find a program to use.
thankshttp://www.youtube.com/profile?user=JaneyDoll

I use Adobe Photoshop, but most people can not afford such a program. Just for covers, it is overkill, you might try designing with a graphics program like The GIMP or PaintShopPro. For templates and printing, I have heard good things about a program called undercoverXP. UndercoverXP is also freeware, if I remember correctly.

I stumbled across this thread while searching for a decent quality DVD case. After evaluating the different cases I decided to go with the Amaray style cases. After using them they support the discs well and have an easy hub release. Much better than the spider style hubs. They are more expensive than the made in china stuff from places like meritline et. al., but they are not made from recycled plastic and are made in the USA.
I bought a box of 100 from US Plastics at http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=USPlastic&category%5Fname=...uct%5Fid=25317 for 35 cents a piece.
They shipped a box within a box. Both boxes were very durable and probably one of the best packaging jobs I've seen lately. I ordered on the website in the middle of the night and had the cases at my front porch the next business day with normal UPS ground shipping. They're located in Lima, OH and I'm a border state.
Just thought I'd mentioned my experience for the next person who stumbles onto this thread.
