So when i burn a .avi onto a DVD using Nero Vision 4 I always have double the bars on top and bottom instead of 1small bar on top and bottom for widescreen i have a HUGe bar on top and bottom making the picture even SMALLER. It's because the origional media in the .avi was alerady Widescreen and Nero doesnt see its alerady formated. What can i do to get rid of the extra line on top and bottom?

If there is a tutorial please point me in the right direction I have searched and looked over every topic that I figured could have something to do with it.

Are there black bars top and bottom present in the source file ?

If so, you need to crop the black bars out of the source file using something like virtualdub.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Your original source wasn't 16:9, it was 4:3 letterboxed. Encode it as 4:3, or crop 60 lines from the top and 60 from the bottom, then resize the height to 480, then encode.

Try installing The Divx 5 codec, or alternatively, configure your XVID codec (if you have it installed) to decode DX50 material.
    If in doubt, Google it.

Ok i opened it up in Virtual Dub and it has no black lines. So does that meen i need to try re-burning it as 4:3 instead of 16:9?

the copy i alerady burnt i just noticed, when i set it as 'zoom' makes the picture perfectly how it should be. it doesnt cut off any of the picture on the sides but reduces the bar size on top/bottom.
