    so I finally got this thing running, seems to work great as far as it powers up, I can get into the Menu system, I can pass through video, except when it comes to playing MiniDV tapes I just get a blank screen. It does not even read the timecode. I dont have any large DV tapes to test with at the moment.
    I dont get any drum errors, which according to the manual they would flash up on the screen if anything was wrong.

    Were your MiniDV tapes recorded in LP mode? Pro decks usually don't support LP playback - the BR-DV3000 is such a machine.
