I had the problem that and the end of a movie (avi or mpeg converted to dvd) the movie fail at the end, say in the last half hour of the movie. At first I thought that it was on because I put the movie as one file on the DVD but the I tried to put four different 20min videos on DVD, and it made the same. I work with DVD-R. Does anybody know why this happen and how I can fix it

As you write the DVD that actual speed you are writing at increases as you move to the outer layers of the disk. Problems with media, your writing drive or the reading drive are more likely to occur.

Try another brand of media. It is the easiest of the variables to control. If that fails, reduce the speed you are writing at.

You could also try a Transfer Rate test in Nero CD-DVD Speed to see at what point it goes bad and size your new burns according. For example instead of 4.38GB set your app to 4GB if the read curve appears good at that point. Many routinely lower DVDShrinks default output size from 4464MB to a lower number anyway.

Here's a bad burn that will crap out at the end, but if it was capped originally at 4.1GB it would work.

Obviously this is not the best way to do things but might be a way to use a spindle of crappy media.
