This is my task: Record various segements of a video game and assemble them together into a video that can be displayed on the internet.
I decided to get the LITEON DD-A series 100$ recorder. After some tinkering I successfully recorded a couple dvd clips. I wanted to use Windows Movie Maker (since it's free) but the files on the disc were in VOB, and needed to be converted. I purchased yasasofts DVD to VCD AVI DivX program to do the task for me. It pefectly converted my files for me to use in WMM.
The problem- Using my dvdrw I went back and recorded about ten more clips to use. But now when I insert the disc into my computer, neither windows explorer nor my yasasoft program can find the files. Actually, it can find ONE of them, and only a partial one at that. However, if I play the dvd in windows media player I can see all the clips that are on the DVD. Also I can view the clips fine with Roxio DVD builder. Even in my converter program it recognizes all of the 'segments' but will only allow me to convert 3 of them. How can I get to the rest of them? :/
edit: I suppose I should mention it's the same as with the ifo files... 3 vob files, 3 ifo files, one bup.

hmm, this kind of sounds like the problem:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/899527
but I'm not sure about the udf thing. Is it possible that the yasasoft program is based on what windows explorer finds on the dvd, therefore it cannot locate the files either?
EDIT: I downloaded and installed the hotfix but no luck
