  1. Hello. Please help me. This is my 3rd post and everyone is ignoring my post. I try to help people too if i can so please don't ignore me. Anyways, I just got my Adobe Premiere 6 and also i'm a newbie into video editing. Can you please tell me step by step on how to join two .avi files using that program? I've tried using Virtual Dub but i keep getting this error, " Cannot Append Segment: The Video streams use incompatible compression types; also have different data formats". Can i do this with Premiere? I'm running out of disc space so i really need to get this done asap. Thanks in advance for your help. Take care.

  2. All files you wan to join must be of the exact same format..codec, sample rate, capture size etc. Even the sample rate of the audio must match.

  3. Hi there,

just import some files (avi, mp3 etc) to the file-bin, and then drag them to the timeline.
The avi's may be different in codec, size etc., but it will cost you some more time rendering it. And of course, read the manual!! (the docs of the 5.* LE version will do as well for most used actions...).
