    hi

what i want to do, is i have lots of home movies on my laptop. And when people want to watch them, I have to burn them onto dvd which takes a while. I want to buy a device that connects to my tv, and has a media centre built in that connects to my laptop with wireless tech to stream video and music content over a network from my laptop. Is there a solution to this? and if so can anyone show me some examples or tell me what to search?

the only solution i have come to find is an external hard drive, which has a media centre built in that connect direct to a tv. But this has no wirelss technology. Also I have ever only found one model of this, Does anyone know what these are called or point me in the right direction?

    thanks

    hi

thanks for that, reading reviews on the product, and it doesn't sound too reliable, and has been out for a few years,

Is there any other newer products? does anyone have one of these? what do people think of Buffalo LinkTheatre?

    thanks

Assuming your laptop has a TV out (either S-Video or Composite) use a pair of these http://direct.tesco.com/q/R.100-5494.aspx
Connect laptop video and audio (from headphones socket) to the transmitter and connect the receiver to your TV.

Then again, assuming your laptop has TV out, why not just plug it in to the TV with cables?

    hi

im looking for a device that is wireless and will not involve me connecting anything to the laptop. Also has a remote, so i can access and change movies etc, without touching the laptop. I have found a few HD-Format media centres, range around £200 mark, but not all of these are sold in the UK.

    thanks

Isn't the defination of a laptop is that it is portable?

I don't see the "resistence" to just hooking it up to the TV when you want to use it for movie playback.

I could see if it was a desktop and therefore in a "fixed" location but a laptop ... just seems like you are making your life way too difficult than need be.
