Hey guys, I'm trying to troubleshoot a problem here. Is there any metadata in the .vob OR .ifo files identifying which program was used to rip the file from the original DVD? If there is, how could I look at that metadata?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

You are only allowed to RIP a DVD Video that you own and that you intend to use for your own purposes i.e., the concept of "fair use".

If you did the RIPPING then you should know how you did it.

Well, your assumption that I pirated the content is incorrect.

In any case, anyone who has a helpful reply, please post. Thank guys!

No. You can often determine what program was used to author or burn a DVD, but this doesn't necessarily tell you how it was ripped. Many people used to rip with DVD Shrink, but burn with DVD Decrypter because Shrink can't burn on it's own. Using something like DVD Info Pro would probably tell you DVD Decrypter burned the disc, but that is all.

    dvdWATCHER,

No, there isn't any data inserted into the ripped files which could be used to identify the ripping program.

I see these were your first two posts here, so welcome to VideoHelp.
