I want to get a dvd player that will allow you to go straight to the menu without having to wait for the fbi warning and watch all the movie trailers etc. Is it possible to do this? I have found info on multiregion hacks, and macrovision hacks but is there some kind of hack or dvd player that I can get that will allow me to get past all the crap they put on discs and go staight to the movie or menu?

  2. Hi-

...or dvd player that I can get that will allow me to get past all the crap they put on discs and go staight to the movie or menu?

    My Oppo has that feature:

    DIRECT PLAY:
To skip over the majority of warnings, promos, etc:

As soon as the DVD will allow:
    Press Stop
    Press Menu

And as Pinstripes23 says, it's easy to do for all your backups. In fact, any person backing up their DVDs that doesn't get rid of the garbage is an idiot, I think.

... So the short answer would be no then. Long answer is to copy all the dvd's to new media and use vobblanker to remove all the crap. Seems a shame that you can hack these things to allow you to record dvd's(macrovision) and hack to allow multiregion but nobody has figured out how to allow the dvd player to accept commands from the remote regardless if the dvd is telling the player not to. oh well, worth a try anyways .

  4. I don't understand. I just said you can do it with the Oppo. You can also press Stop->Play and go straight into the movie. There are 3 Oppo models, and they're 3 of the best DVD players made, and not at all expensive. I've heard of other DVD players having the same feature, but don't know what brands or models they are. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Some disc's dont ... depend's on how they where authored and the navigational commands included with those warning's .

Some report , some unit's having the ability to go straight to the title by simple hitting the play button twice .
