Virtualdubmod – Huge converted AVI file

I have a 700MB avi file with two audio streams. I used Virtualdubmod 1.5.10.2 to get rid of one of the streams (I disabled one in the stream list and did a File - Save as). The new avi file with a single audio stream was 77 Gigabytes long.

How can I get it down to something more reasonable?

Select Video->Direct Stream Copy and the video will just be copied.
