I was able to convert some music videos I have in SVCD/MPEG-2 format (ripped from Cable/TV) to WMV using Windows Media Encoder 9, but for some reason I can't anymore. When I hit the 'Start Encoding' button and try to encode something again, I get a "The following error ocurred while setting up the source 'Source 1': The parameter is incorrect. (0x80070057)" error message. And when I try to run a batch via command-line again, Console Based Script Host (cscript.exe) crashes saying claud.ax or wmenceng.dll was the culprit

I REALLY want to get this working again, because the quality is amazing (for my Zune) and better than WinAVI Converter

Any ideas on how I can fix this and get encoding again???

    TIA

Try reinstall a mpeg2 decoder like powerdvd, windvd. You might have to try a few.

Or convert the mpge2 to dv-avi, hufyuv, lagarith with virtualdub-mpeg2 and then convert it with wme.

i have powerdvd 7 installed already and batch encoding with WME produces the error with 'claud.ax'. on my other computer cyberlink is not installed and batching encoding with WME produces an error, but with 'wmenceng.dll'

does that mean the problem lies with the mpeg2 decoder or something else?
