    Greetings knowledge meisters!

It`s a simple enough question, but after googling/forum searching/product feature reading i just can`t get anywhere!

Essentially i`ve got 3700 holiday pics from a round the world trip. I don`t really want to go through them all and add transition effects or music or anything like that, i just want to dump the whole lot onto one dvd that i can then send to the grandparents for them to wathc on their home tv........

Can i do that? Can i hell as like! I`ve used medishow but that will only allow999 fotos in one slideshow, you cannot add multiple slideshows eg 4 x 999 slideshows. Powerproducer only allows 256 fotos in one show.

surely its an easy task just dumping it all on one disc for continous tv playback?????

Please help as i`m going mad with frustration--surely i cant` be the only one on the planet who wants there software to do this?

IrfanView lets you create a slideshow and burn it (has burn button in slideshow page) and it is freeware. I'm not sure about the file number limitations though if any. I think version 3.99 is available (don't forget the plugin pack).

I would try Photodex Proshow or MemoriesOnTV....but i'm not sure about the dvd slideshow/titles limits, maybe 3700 are too many for dvd-video.

check that out.....especially the bottom with a solution thats out of my league.

I beleive some guru here can do it, but doubt it works on TV for Gramps....I'd buy him a laptop and burn the pictures as files, not in a slide show....

    g, luck

  5. You can create 4 DVD folders of 999 fotos, then arrange all DVDs in one with TmpegEnc DVD Author's "Add DVD video" button! Or you can load all fotos in VirtualDbu, frameserve to CCE and encode as video, then tell you relatives to watch video frame by frame
    Cann't tell it's possible don't tell anything.

The largest slideshow that I've done to date contained nearly 1,000 photos - and had a playback time of almost 2 hours. To expedite the authoring process it was broken into segments, with titles and transitions in between. This also made it easier to go back and edit out or in parts that I or the customer didn't like = without having to re-encode the entire video. For 3k photos: I feel your pain.

As to software: ProShow was what I used = very easy.
