Can somebody please tell me how to make the best VCD's possible? I mean:
which capture programm, which settings ( framesize, codec )
    which editing programm
which conversion programm to VCD format.
I keep getting terrible pictures which excist of "large" blocks. There is no detail visible.
Please help me. I've been busy for over a month now and I still don't have a good quality film.
If you like you can mail me direct:

  2. What source are you using to convert from?

remember the saying around here "crap in - crap out"

I normally convert divxs to vcd and use tmpgenc and I find the quality is great with it.
I also use the default vcd settings and sometimes raise the quality on it..

does the blocks show up on your dvd player also or just your computer?

I use a handycam as input on a nVidia Geforce 3 card with video input. I have tried several AVI files and also MPEG, but nothing seems to work.

    I've got:
Pentium 4, 1.8GHz, 384MB Ram, 80GB harddisk, nVidia GeForce 3 Ti200 video- and capture card and i use Windows XP.
I have tried ME on the same machine, but the result is terrible. Films are stuttering.
