that will be a nice player for my westy 37" LCD ,but the price is a little bit too high for me. I will wait until Amazon.com carry this model so i can use my gift certificate .

My first DVD player Pioneer DV333 costs $300, which is more than this oppo. A lot of bang for the buck.
It is sad that no retail store carries oppo. -

No point in getting this model if you aren't going to take advantage of the DCDi by Faroudja processing.

So my guess is they decided to drop the component out so people wouldn't make that confusion again because hey you can't be confused with only one HD capable output.
I dunno ... just a thought.
My HDTV has a HDMI input so I will be using that once I get around to ummm saving up enough money to buy this LOL
