    Most folks want to go the other direction, so I haven't been able to find a tool searching here. What software will let me convert MPEG4 to MPEG2?

    What sort of mpeg4 ? That covers a wide range, and lots of poeple do it and use a variety of tools.

    ConvertXtoDVD is a simple conversion tool for creating DVDs from avi files, and covers a wide range for formats.

    Otherwise you have avisynth, virtualdub and many more.

    perhaps you need to be more specific.

    Most MPEG4 are packaged as AVI files. Look for AVI to DVD. Many listed there will do the job.

    I use Avisynth, FitCD and HCEnc myself, with BeSweet for audio.
