Ok, this is going to sound strange, but are their any media players out there that will allow me to unsync the audio/video of a video file in realtime? I know that you can sync audio and video using virtual dub in the encoding process or whatever, but i need it for playback. My "problem" is that i use a wireless bluetooth transmitter to transmit my audio to my surround receiver, and my video goes to my tv through a hard wire (s-video). The wireless audio causes like a .5 second delay from when the audio is played on my computer to when the audio is received by the receiver, causing the audio/video to play out of sync. Therefore i am just looking for a way to put like a .5 second delay on the video, or read the audio .5 seconds ahead... Anyone know a player that can do this? Thanks!

    Media player classic

Go to view/options then to internal filters/audio switcher and tick the "audio time shift" box and enter the time delay, which i think it is 500 for what you want or could be -500, try both.

VLC Media Player can also do that. Settings>Preferences>Audio>Audio desynchronization compensation. Be sure to click 'Advanced options' to get the extended choices. The compensation is in milliseconds. 1000ms = 1 second.

    And welcome to our forums.

  4. Just curious, what kind of project calls for the audio being out of synch?

I'm just wondering since keeping the audio IN SYNCH causes such a headache for so many people.

He just told you. Video goes directly to the TV via S-Video cable. Audio goes wireless, which has about a 1/2 second of processing delay.

Hence the desire to "desync" the audio by -0.500 seconds (so it plays "in sync").

i can see where it may be confusing because you are actually re-syncing or syncing at that point rather that unsyncing.
