  1. Hi All:
I have many old VHS tapes which I am copying to my hard drive. I have been successful in most cases burning them to DVD. Some of the movies are avi files but are not recognized by my software, Nero 7 or my Radeon 1600. Therefore I cannot convert them to be burned. I'm sure I have a codec problem but I have over 30 codecs. How can I find my problem?

    Thanks,

You must have the codec if you used it to capture, load the AVI into Gspot and it will tell you the codec used.

  4. Hi there:

Yes, you were correct, I did have the codec! However, when I go to burn it will not recognise the avi. Could there be some copy protection on them? Some of the tapes have some old porn movies on them.

    Thanks,

Are you using Nero to convert them to MPEG? If so then try another converter, give ConvertXToDVD a go.

  6. Hey!

That worked! I guess I'll have to buy the program to get rid of the watermark, eh?
Thanks a lot. I'm almost in business noe.
