I just got the LG LDA 730 Divx dvd player. Plays cd-rw media, and DVD+R, but i get "disk error" when i pop in a +RW. At first i thought it was my old disk so i went out and baught a new 10pack of nice verbatim +rw with videoguard coating, and i still get the same thing. Called LG and they said verbatim should definitly be supported, and that all disk formats are supported by all their players including my specific model. They advised me (twice) to go back to futureshop and exchange for a new one. Still having the same problem.

Disc's ARE finalized, and do play fine in my computer's DVD-ROM, i've burned with both nero 6.6.0.3, and sonic record now 7.
I don't know what to do, i don't want to be doing exchanges at future shop all week trying to get a player that will read my brand spanking new +RW media. Again, +R work's fine, and they're burned the exact same way unless nero is automatically changing something when it records to +RW media.

Would shelling out more money for a set of -RW be worth trying? I got +RW verbatim's today because they're + is 4x, where as -RW is only x2, but if -RW it will actually work then i guess i'll have to live with it.

The LG 730 work's perfectly otherwise, even supports alot of the xvid codecs.

    HELP!

A quick google search and after reading a few reviews, you aren't the only person complaining about +RW discs. Nobody else seems to be able to get them to work either. Even a few reviews on this site point the player isn't compatible with +RW discs. I expect the unit has a firmware issue which may or may not be corrected by LG. In the mean time, I would stick with -RW discs.

Yup, -RW works like a charm, and i was even able to erase and return the +RW to staples, so i didn't end up losing money after all
