A freind of mine encoded an XviD file incorrectly. He should have encoded it in a 2.35 to 1 aspect ratio but he made it 1.79 to 1 instead, fullscreen, so everyone in it is too tall and too skinny.

What is the best way to resize this to the correct 2.35 to 1 aspect ratio?

    Thanks!

  2. AVISource("C:\Path\To\Movie.avi")
    LanczosResize(640,272)

in AviSynth, or something similar in VDub. And then reencode.

Or you can resize in ffdshow at playback. But to fix it permanently, you'll have to reencode.

  3. No reencoding necessary: use mpeg4modifier to change the display aspect ratio to 2.35:1. Many players will respect that and display the video properly.
