  1. I'm trying to create a DVD using 6 episodes with menu. First thing, probably an easy one but the output mpg files are NTSC and I can't see or find any settings that can change the output to PAL.

    Secondly, even though I've used the autpfit option, the output is around 4.6Gb which will, of course, not allow the burn. When I activated the DVD shrink option in settings, I got this error;

    Version: SVCD2DVD 2.1
    Build: 2.1.2422.17262

    Type: System.NullReferenceException

    Source: SVCD2DVD

    Message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.

    InnerException:

    StackTrace: at x3284ccece41ee22b.xd3764d4f1e921081.xf81783e1b359f fc3()

    Any ideas / help, cheers.

  2. I will try to help you.
    You do not say whether your input files are NTSC or PAL. What are they? If they are PAL you need to make sure that you do NOT have "Convert PAL assest to NTSC" checked in the video encoding process settings. If you are inputting NTSC assets and you want PAL output, well I don't think that SVCD2DVD converts NTSC to PAL. I believe it is because the process is too complex to do well. Don't most PAL dvd players play NTSC normally?
    As to your other question about the final DVD's being too big. Take a look at this link:

    There is a setting that you can adjust in your registry settings. Also, you need to make sure that when you are done entering your assets that you click the "Autofit" button. I have used SVCD2DVD quite a bit and I have never had a DVD come out as big as you are saying. I have had them be too big by 100MB or so. Big enough that DVD Decryptor balked at burning the image. But I could burn the VIDO_TS folder with other software safely.
    Hope this helps you a bit.

  3. Thanks Mark.

    I've deleted the original avi's now but I'm pretty sure they weren't NTSC and no, the NTSC option isn't checked in settings.

    I've also used the autofit option many times before without any problems but this is the first time I've added a menu. As I clicked on autofit and then created the menu, could the menu be taking it over the limit ? That aside, the DVD shrink option should kick in but as I say, I'm getting an error which hopefully, Chrissy can shed some light on.
