I can't believe I had this novelty idea years ago. But I never knew how to go about producing them.

Is it compatible with Dual Layer? I don't want only one layer rewound!

  5. I was just about to purchase one but I heard it wouldn't work on BluRay discs... so I decided to wait for a 'Next Generation' model.

Its good for renting DVDs, because you need to rewind them before returning them, or they charge you a rewinding fee.

I like the post about their machine does the rewinding for them. I was also amazed at those that don't get the joke.

I read that using rewinders is bad. It's better to let the player rewind them so the lasers don't get magnetized.

As long as the rewinder slows down when it is reaching the end it shouldn't damage the discs.

It would be better if it were USB powered. Like this:

Everyone knows that the lasers don't get magnetized during rewinding, but only during play when they read the one's and zeros from the magnetic surface of the DVD. Gadgetguy, you need to get your facts straight before commenting, this is common knowlege any idiot like me knows. Sorry I didn't mean to be so harsh, but we want the correct knowlege to get to the users of this forum.

I got mine at the same store that sold me valve stem lube, windshield wiper sharpeners, and a full set of electric air tools.

My facts are straight. Playing magnetizes them and rewinding demagnetizes them so if you play and play and play and never rewind they'll become permanently magnetized. :P

  15. Rewinding DVDs in your player will wear out the motors and belts prematurely. It really makes me angry when I rent a DVD and it's not rewound to the beginning. "Be Kind, Please Rewind"

  16. Couple of my DVDR disc with full label do not rewind pass mid-point. It is not the disc surface, I checked.

Is there a firmware update for this rewinder ?

If the disc is dual sided does it in effect fast forward to the end of the other side? This might be a design glitch that wasn't considered.

...then each side has to be done separately. Where's your logic, dude?

  19. !!!! WARNING !!!! Make sure your DVDs are not magnetized before using! The rewinder just ate my most favorite DVD. I got DVD all over the place. Hope I can get it back on the disc without ruining it.

    Most important people
Make sure there is no dust on your DVD before rewinding
Not only can it ruin your disk, but it's even more dangerous than running with scissors!
    You have been warned

I love my wife, but once upon a time...

And then there was the time that I told her that the pilot light was out in the microwave...

BTW, she is a nurse, scarey huh?

An absolute necessity for those who want to extend the life of their DVD players and the life of their DVD's ..... if it's good enough for the Bush administration, I have to have one.

The lease of the Sydney Harbour Bridge is due to expire later this year and I have the sold rights to organise the new lease, anyone interested, very cheap.
