  1. Received my bonus this week woo hoo ! and have just finshed installing my brand new pioneer DVR-A03. Armed with blank disks what is the best authoring program for making menus and chaptres on a Low to medium budget , also for encoding AVI files to dvd format.

  2. ReelDVD or Impression DVD-Pro is for real DVD authoring with subtitles, more video and audio traks.

The easyest to use is Sonic DvdIt PE, only 1 video and audio track.

VideoPack 5 is the same as DVDit but with motion menu and support for VCD and SVCD creations.

Pinnacle Express ( I didn't try it ) can giv you the same futures as VP5.

Is it your bundled software MyDVD? It's a easy and good authoring solution to make a low/medium budget DVD. Only one meny and no chapter-link to menu button.

  3. Yes the bundled software is ok but its a bit to budget for me , I would rather the DVD boot stright into a film than have a static flim menu. thanks for responding

  4. My experience has been ULead DVD Movie Factory gives you good flexibility for the price ($45, try the demo first). Additionally, it allows insertion of pre-encoded vids, which saves a lot of time when creating the final DVD, and makes changes a lot easier. It does not provide for animated icons or backgrounds, but does allow a video to run before the menu!

  5. Ulead will also provide for no menu at all, if you want the movie to start right off. It does have its own encoder, but I prefer the results from LSX.
