I bought some DVD-Rs for some months ago, but my burner won't burn them. I've tried reinstalling windows and but for no use. I've been looking all over the internet for some answers and stuff, but I got nothing. So I downloaded DVD indentifier and I got this:

^^ This is from the DVD-Rs that doesn't work with my burner.

What could be the problem? Can I fix it, like an update or someting? I can't get out anything useful from this.

    Thanks.

  2. Which brand did you bought?
Sometimes upgrading DVD writers firmware helps, try to search if there is any firmware upgrade available on your recorders manufacturer site, i had the same problem with my Sony DRU-710A in back, upgraded the firmware and everything goes fine after that.

"won't burn them" is always too vaigue. What exactly does it do or not do ? What message are you getting ? What program/how are you trying to burn them ? These are the burning questions (excuse the pun !), and of course what dvd-r's ???? The info you show refers to your burner, doesn't give any clue to your problem.

What software are you using to burn your dvd discs? Usually upgrading the firmware on the drive will fix the problem. Need more info from you. As I mentioned what software are you using to backup your dvd discs?

Frankly, I don't know. Since I'm not ripping them myself. On the other hand it shouldn't matter, since I can't burn anything on the DVD at all, not even data with windows.

  9. Are you certain the master/slave settings are correct? Did you install the burner yourself?

I'm not talking about images, I'm talking burning my DVDs in general. It can't even burn the DVDs with data, not music, not movie, not images - nothing.

Yes, I'm certain that there is nothing wrong with the DVD-burner's prefs. it can burn DVD-r of a diffrent brand.

If the dvd burner can burn a different brand of DVD-R then just use that dvd media. Your dvd burner may not be able to burn MCC 02RG20 without upgrading the firmware on your drive. I gave you a link regarding your dvd burner. If you're so afraid of flashing your dvd burner then just use the DVD-R that works for you. There's no work around it unless you flash your dvd burner to the latest firmware. Use IMGBURN to burn your DVD-R media. I'd also suggest you do a search in the NEC FORUM at CdFreaks.com and post your questions there as well.
