I'm thinking of buying a Pioneer DVD-Recorder PRV-9000. I read that it has analog inputs to record from VCR, camcorder etc. It says nothing about digital inputs from another separate DVD Player from backing up my own 'store bought' DVD's. Then I found a product called the Copymaster from Sima. http://www.videoguys.com/sima.htm. This device lets you copy your DVD's successfully to VHS tapes. I was wondering if anyone knew if this device would work with the above mentioned.

That might do it. I tried dvd player to Sima to ATI capture card path. THE ATI AIW reported copyright protection and would not allow copy. Had to install MACRO hack to AIW program application to get around.

The strange thing is, I can hook my standalone DVD Player (philips 711) directly to my pci video capture card - MiroVideo DC10. And they all play perfectly. And yes, I can capture it to MJPEG AVI! Go Figure.
