I have an ATI AIW 8500, and have been using the ATI MMC for a good while now. For some reason the timed record has greyed out and is unusable. Anyone have any idea why this would happen?
Also I have been looking at trying to move to a different capture software recently(as my luck with MMC and DIVX has been almost non-existent). My current requirements are custom timed recording settting, Support for MANY A/V codecs, ability tio handle all 3 AIW inputs. Excellent Quality capture. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

You might take a look at lordsmurf's site. He has quite a bit of info on capturing with ATI cards: http://digitalfaq.com/

If you capture with an mp4-codec, better try XViD, not DiVX. DiVX is known for being much heavier on system resources.
I had an ATI AIW 9800Pro till recently and had no luck with DiVX, but could capture in fine quality using XViD. You might want to try VirtualDub, VirtualVCR or iuVCR as capture-software alternatives.
Watch out for resolution though. Both those formats are highly compressed ones, that means heavy work for the CPU during capture anyway. So test with smaller resolutions first, working your way up, perhabs...
The best way might be to use Alparysoft Lossless Codec (it's free) and at the same time uses not as much HDD-space as PicVideo MJPEG does, yet you will be able to capture with less CPU-load and convert afterwards to the desired, more compressed format, whichever you like.
