I have Dances with Wolves and the (motion) menu is in spanish. I was wondering if there's any way i can change the language on the buttons ONLY and keep the rest of the menu as it is. Do I need to remake the buttons, do I need to remake the whole menu or is there any way i can adjust the language only. I've seen several menu editing tutorials however I couldnt possibly find one related to what I'd like to do. if anyone knows how I can make such adjustments (and if there can be done), what software i need or at least a link to a related tutorial, it would greatly appreciated. Thank you in advaced.

Menuedit or DVD Remake might do this for you. It depends however on whether or not the buttons are just sub-pictures (easy to replace) or also embedded in the video background (a lot harder to change)

Sorry this is one thing I've forgotten to mention. The buttons are embeded on the video menu which, indeed, makes it harder to remove them (or I don't know how w/out messing a bit the menu). I have tried both softwares mentioned by you plus PGCEdit but i couldnt find a way....yet. It seems that I'll use a BMP frame fron the original menu and go for a still frame although I'd have liked to keep the original menu. Thx 4 reply Guns1inger.

Hi-
If the menu is a still menu, or you don't mind stilling it, the process is fairly simple:

You'll have to make the changes in a picture editor yourself, like cover up the word "Spanish" to be replaced with "English". If the menu is a motion menu (which is what you said originally), then the process is fairly complex, but doable. I've used this guide a number of times with success. It's designed with a static menu in mind, but it also works just as well with a motion menu:

There's an easier way to do it nowadays using PGCEdit, PGCDemux, and VobBlanker, but I don't know of a guide for it. Modifying the motion menu is real tricky, and unless you're experienced using AviSynth (which is how I do that sort of thing), or maybe some NLE, then for all practical purposes it's impossible, and I'd recommend stilling the menu using MenuShrink or VobBlanker, and using the first link.
Edit: I did just find a guide for replacing a motion menu (or still menu) more easily:
http://dvdguides.netgeekhosting.com/guides/edit_menu/
But again, you'll be required to reencode the motion menu yourself, with the changes you want. -
I think I will settle for a still menu for couple of reasons:
Most important one is that very soon I'll have some urgent things to do, and creating a motion menu is time consuming, especially when one has my limited experience. Manono has mentioned something about AviSynt which I haven't used much, hence, I'd need time to learn that program too.
Creating a motion menu seems a challenging task (which happens to like). When I'll have (again) more time I'll start all over again because I'm eager to learn those things. Unfortunately, for the time being I will settle for a still menu.
GunS1inger and Manono I thank you for your help and also for the links provided.
You guys have a great weekend.
