Hi,
I've got a Toshiba SD3750 (that I love, BTW) that's starting to crap out on me so I'm in the market for a good, simple, inexpensive player. I was attracted to the Sony DVP-NS55P because it seemed to be everything I was looking for, but then I realized the zoom might not work as I had hoped.
My current player (the Toshiba) allows you to zoom out at a few different steps in addition to the standard zooming in that most people might do. I use this zoom out mode all the time when watching DVDs to compensate for the overscan on my TV. So when I start a movie, I zoom out until the image shrinks way back (black on the sides of the image) and then zoom in a couple of steps until the image just meets the sides of the screen. This works really great for me and I've been watching movies this way for years with this unit.
The problem is, from reading about the Sony, I don't believe it will do this zoom out thing that I like so much. And that got me thinking, do many other (newer) units allow you to zoom out in this way or was I just lucky with the old Toshiba? Does your player zoom out like I described? Do you know of any other new players that do? Thanks a lot for any help you can provide.

P.S. I glanced at some newer Toshiba models, and I think even they don't zoom out like I'm talking about. My (old) remote has three zoom buttons: zoom, +, and -. The newer remotes just have one zoom button. Thanks again.
