I have read allmost everything about A/V sink issues from avi sources.

History: I like to convert my avi clips to SVCD and make dvd with SVCD2DVD. I do this because I can have a menu and chapters for my videos. Maybe this is not the best way to do this. Maybe somebody can point me to a better way.

OK Like a lot of people, I have tried to convert avi's to SVCD and then to DVD (I can put multiple SVCD's on a DVD with pretty decent quality) but I have the A/V sync issue. I kinda understand the issues with Presentation time Stamping but not sure.
OK I ran my AVI's through AVIMUX-Gui. It shows no delay. Ran it anyway. Put them into SVCD2DVD. Got dvd files. They play fine on my PC, but out of sync on my Phillips 642.

Is this different from other sync issues? Can someone tell me how to re-encode my avi's with TMPGenc to svcd to avoid these problems?

I've been after this for about two months with only mixed results.

Thanks for any help you may be able to offer.

  2. Which version of SVCD2DVD are you using? If you are using version 2, have you tried converting directly from AVI to DVD?
