I have some dl blanks. I haven't really jumped into it yet. I've been mainly using my new pioneer 111d for faster sl burning.
Donatello - The Shredder? Michelangelo - Maybe all that hardware is for making coleslaw? -
Ive only ever bought one DL media, only because the prices are still high.

BD Burning isn't here yet?

elaborate.Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore. -
You've have 2 competing formats that have no real world experience or compatibility tests yet. Don't count out DL burning and storage because it's the only REAL, high storage burning media platform we have.

I've got two DL burners in my PC (three DVD burners overall). I've never used a DL disc before, because they're expensive and aren't MCC or TY media (the only media that's been 100% for my DVD players).
The question I have is this: how reliable will the next-gen media be? DVD-R media seems to be a bit of a minefield. -
HD DVD seems pretty solid and it's coming out on the market. The players and burners are coming in at half the cost of Blu-Ray, and the cost of the blank media are coming in at 1/3 the cost of BDs. You can even purchase the HD DVD movies at Wal-Mart already. I've seen some of the players selling well at $200 for the low end ones, and know a few people who have them. I don't know anoyone with Blu-Ray yet. :/

I think BD and HD-DVD will be the hiccup. Can anybody say "Laserdisc"?
