Hi I just bought a 19" widescreen monitor for my pc. Its a lovely screen but I am worried I have made a boo boo.
I paid £139 for it, and there are 17" lcd tvs for around £150 avaialble with vga input. (So I could have bought a portable tv and pc monitor for the price of one)
Is the picture quality better with a dedicated pc screen or do the LCD tvs do a decent job as a pc monitor.

  3. I cwouldn't worry mate. The specifications will tell you which screen (whether it includes a tv tuner or not) is better. Just get a nice external tuner for your screen, they are very small and discreet these days, preferably a dual analogue/dvb. Best of both worlds and a nice 19" screen. (ebuyer, aria good places to start in the uk)

I'd stick with the 19" LCD unless you REALLY need the TV tuner. Most of the lower end LCD TVs only do 640x480 or 800x600. Your monitor probably does 1400x900 or something close to that. You'd be sacrificing PC video resolution. For TV use it's no big deal, you'll still be looking at 480p.
Nothing can stop me now, 'cause I don't care anymore.
