ntfs recovery

hi, i have just put xp bk on my pc after formatting it, i need to recover some lost files & folders
now i thought that i back them all up, but i missed one or two. any ideas on what software i could use?

?? have you formated the drive and reloaded xp on it and now you want to recover files from it??

There are a few tools out there but most cost money and cannot ensure that you will recover anything!

if your HDD was well defraged and the data you were looking for was written outside of the reload area then you might have a chance. My expierence tho is that it can reference it but the damage is too great to recover the actual file intact..
