  1. Amazon no longer allows my player to listen to clips using WMP 6.4 or even 7.1.
Now instead of using your player to pop up and play it pops it's own something WMP and states "Done". W/O doing anything. The play button is greyed out.
Also their audio help FAQ and section is of no help.
I disabled 6.4 and allowed 7.1 to connect but still no play.
Anyone got any ideas as to what is going on or suggestions on what to use.
I do not click RM files just the WMP selections.
Thanks for any suggestions. Upgrading to a higher version is not suppose to be needed as I think the last I read 6.4 and above was still compatible but they aren't or I am missing something. (?)
    Thanks,

  2. Hi MOVIEGEEK,
Yes I downloaded that and the one for wmp7.1 (win98).
However even after unticking every file type in 6.4 and enabling 7.1 ...Amazon still pops up it's player that the "About" reads my 6.4 version.
This all started when amazon started to popup the wmp instead of my 6.4 poping up, buffering and then playing. Now as soon as the song clip is clicked a wmp box pops up from amazon and states "Done" and all buttons are greyed out.
There's bound to be a player that will play their clips.
Now I have no idea what the codecs were but they are forever installed I guess.

If anyone is able to play the clips at Amazon I would greately appreciate a minute of your time to inform me as to a player (doesnt have to be WMP) that will work. Or what I may be doing wrong.
    Thanks, I'm stumped.

latest??? If you mean WMP, please re-read OP.
"Upgrading to a higher version is not suppose to be needed as I think the last I read 6.4 and above was still compatible."
And from what I've read vs. 9 and 10 is buggy as all get out. Also I think vs. 7.1 was the last version that allowed disabling the unique ID feature for nosy people and sites. Very important feature for me to consider.
But really if I decide to prusue it I am sure I can find a computer forum that will take an interest in the problem.
I dont mind that no one here still uses older versions of WMP or doesn't listen to the clips on Amazon or uses different players (which I am looking into) even just dont want to offer help.
Since google does not even give info on the error code I didn't expect much anyway.
    Thanks though,
    Regards,
    NL

I'm not familiar with amazon movies but I believe you need to be using Media Player Classic with the Media 9 codecs and have the player set to default to play all your streaming media. You'll need realalternative and qtalternative also. If this doesn't work then you'll probably need to upgrade to the new player (yuck!).

When the amazon player pops up, right click and choose properties to see if the address is shown. If so, copy the address to media player. You could also view source to see if you can find the address of the move.

Thanks DarrellS, but I was only interested in the AUDIO clips offered for CD. You know the 30 second (sometimes 1 minute) clips of music
Now that you mentioned it I have been looking at MPClassic as an alternative...If I can figure it out. It appears to do all most anything which can sometimes become confusing but nethertheless still worth awhile of research.
Thanks for the tip about the link copy also.
