Is it possible to burn video files on cd just as backup? Reason I'm asking is a friend has videos on his pc but only has a cd burner, he just needs to backup those video files, is this possible in any way?

In several ways. A cd will store 700 MB's of data or if you want you can convert to VCD then it can store 800 MB or about 80 minutes.Originally Posted by mikehende"Art is making something out of nothing and selling it." - Frank Zappa

What ZippyP. said. You can save them as a data file. You just have to split them into 700MB chunks to fit on the CD, but you would not have to re-encode. You can split with a MPEG editor like Cuttermaran or a AVI editor like VirtualDub, for a couple of freeware solutions. If you don't mind some quality loss and want more compaction and smaller files, go ahead and re-encode.
