Hi,
I posted this to the DVD Authoring forum but got no response. Hopefully someone here might have an idea:
I am using:
Panasonic DMRES10 DVD Recorder
NEC N4750A DVD Writer on PC (latest firmware v1.03)
Panasonic 3x DVD-RAM Media
I've read on these forums how it is possible to copy and edit the VRO file that the Panasonic creates on the DVD-Ram. However when I try the resultant file is corrupted. When displayed it contains horizontal bars of video from other scenes.
I have tried the following, all of which I have seen recommended for VRO files on this forum, without success:
reading the VRO file from the disc and copying it to the hard drive
renaming the VRO file to a .mpg file
running the file through ProjectX - a 45 min program gave 27,271 errors
editing the resultant m2v file in MPEG2Schnitt - it caused the program to crash
opening the file in Womble MPEG Editor, DGMPEGDecoder, Canopus ProCoder & TMPEGEnc DVD Author.
It looks to me as if it could be either a copy protection feature kicking in or an incompatibility in the NEC DVD Writer. I have seen one report that the user could not edit using Panasonic media as it included "protection" but others seem to have used it successfully.
The source is a UK DTT broadcast recorded on a Humax PVR9200T and recorded to DVD via Scart.
I've uploaded a few grabs here:
