  1. I am trying to copy the "making of" feature on the Labyrinth DVD so I can include it on a VCD that I am creating. The problem is, I can't figure out how to copy anything other than the movie itself (from any DVD, not just Labyrinth).

I thought this would be an easy question that I could answer myself, but I've looked through DVD ripping and conversion and just can't find an answer! Can anyone help me???

  2. Go get yourself DVDx (can be found in the DVD Rip How To) and insert your DVD into your DVD-ROM. Then it shows all tracks (or different parts) of the movie. If you know what track it is select that track and rip it! When you need the rest of the movie then you just rip the larger track.

  3. Steve,

Thanks for your help! After following your guidance I was also able to figure out how to make it work in SmartRipper -

FYI for anyone else with this question:
In the title->program chain->angle box, just scroll down to title 2,3,etc... Then follow through like with the movie itself.

Duh!!! I should've been able to figure that out!

I too have ripped the extra title vob files off a DVD. My problem is that the extra file is MPEG-1 and the DVD2AVI program does not create the audio wave file for mpeg-1 vobs. What are you using to create the wav file?

    My process is:
    1. smartripper
    2. dvd2avi
    3. TMPGEnc

send an e-mail if you can
    thanks

Try using VOB2AUDIO and SCMPX to make the audio. Should work if u r trying to get the audio from a .vob file.

    Instructions are in Pionnys HOW-TO-GUIDE.

    I have resolved my problem.

SmartRipper showed the extra title files as mpeg-1.
DVD2AVI text file said it does not work with mpeg-1.
The vob file contained sound so video and audio had to exist in the file.
I thought the problem was with it being mpeg-1 and dvd2avi not processing properly.
As it turns out, the audio was on a different track. Finding the track is a trial and error process.

    Thanks, hope this helps others.

  7. For copying the extra stuff (as in ALL of the stuff including menu animations and screens), use DVD Decrypter to extract all the VOB files off the DVD.

Then, you can use FlaskMPEG to go through the IFO files to see extract things at your leasure.

    Regards.
