i enjoy using svcd2dvd and now have need to convert a dvd to mpg so that i can add chapters and re-author. i downloaded the latest version of vob2mpg but when i tried to install .net 2.0 it said i needed a windows installer. is this really necessary ? i am not in agreement with allowing microsoft access to my computer.

you already have ms installer, you just need the latest update. it controls how things install and doesn't report or allow access of anything to ms.

what i have a problem with is windows genuine advantage (WGA) that they require be installed. it might not seem like a big deal but it's the principle of the thing, gaining access to my computer.
