I have P4 with XP with NTFS volumes (so no inherent file size limit on the hard drive), but my capture program is DVmotion and it limits the avi capture files to 2GB and I want the full 13GB so I can encode the whole thing in one shot and use chapters to author the DVD. Does anybody know if TMPGenc can handle .avi files larger than 2GB? Is there a limit?
Also, since presently I have only 9:36 min clips due to my DVmotion 2GB avi files, I have been trying to merge the encoded mpg2's in TMPGenc but I think those files are causing problems in DVDit SE. The individual mpg2s compile into a DVD volume in DVDit, but the merged ones can give errors. How do you avoid a merge compatibility problem with settings in TMPGenc? do you need the "output bitstream for edit (Closed GOP) selected in the GOP tab?
