hi,
im using osx 10.3.9 with imovies and idvd from `06. i made a dvd from som dv footage and then deleted the original footage plus the mpeg - so all i have now is the dvd (video_ts file)
now i want to make a compilation of several clips into a new dvd and want to access only one scene from the dvd i made and include it in the new compilation dvd.
my question is how do i extract the dvd footage back into imovies so that i can edit it. i tried to convert the dvd into an avi with ffmpex 0.0.9s - however it wont allow it saying it is illegal!
can anyone suggest another way?
thanks

Alternatively, MPEG Streamclip (+QuickTime MPEG-2 Playback Component) can transcode MPEG-2 from DVD to DV.
I'm sure some other users have other favorite tools for this. -
MPEG Streamclip or Cinematize 2 are your best bets for selecting a scene from a video DVD and extracting that as a .mov file for use in iMovie. You can do the extraction straight from the disc since it is not copy protected.
