  1. I was wondering if the tygo3's that rima.com carrys are authentic, b/c they don't have the paper label at the top of the spindle. Supermedia carrys tygo3s, but they are more expensive, and my last order with them they did not package the shipment very well and I recieved about 20 broken jewel cases...I didn't RMA them b/c it is just easier not to buy from Supermedia anymore, besides they are more expensive than rima.

I just need to buy top quality, inkjet hub-printable tygo3s and need to make sure they are authentic. Does anyone know about rima or where else to get these at affordable prices?

Supermediastore.com and Meritline.com. Meritline has been accused in the past by posters here of selling TY fakes, though that was a few years back. I've heard people complain recently about Rima but don't remember exactly what. You can use the forum search tool to find threads pertaining to that.

I go with polylinecorp.com, but you are going to pay.

  4. Rima has been good for me so far, I'd like to hear what other complains. As to TYG03, it really didn't save me much time, but I did begin to get trouble from friends: some take a while to load, some simply eject it - I'd say 1 out of 15 had trouble; now I go back to TYG02, all fine.

No need to worry about the TYs from Rima. They don't even carry the Value Line TYs; they only sell Premium line genuine Taiyo Yuden media. $38.99 for 100 is a great price for hub printable 16x TY.

I use Rima also for TY. Never any problems. And fast service so far.

Are you saying they take a while to load in the standalone DVD player after they have been burned?

When you said, "some simply eject it" is that when you tried to burn or after burning the DVD player ejected it?

My experience was opposite, the TYGO2's gave me 1 out of every 15 were rejected upon burning, but then I tried 50 TYG03's, and none were flawed...when I tested on a standalone DVD player, they loaded very fast...but I did not test all 50...that is why I was wondering if the problems you experience were upon burning or playback.

  8. The problem was playing, and really depends on which player my friends have. When I read "so-called bad" disks in my writers "Nec", "Pionner", "Lite-on", they are fine. Most of files are less than 1 Gb, so I was very puzzled; even I changed the write-speed to 4x, still, people complained. Same file, TYG02 is fine for them. I think players might be the problem, it worth looking into it.

  9. Bummer, I liked the speed of the 16x, but I don't want to mess with compatibility for my clients.
