    Hi
I just wondered if anyone has used DVD cloner 111 and if its any good, it seems to get a good write up here http://dvd-copy-software-review.toptenreviews.com/ I know there are free programs that do the job but for $40 I thought I might try it.
    Thanks

    thespook,

The company that makes the program and their website are based in China, which is probably the only reason macrovision hasn't shut them down. Their website says the program can defeat CSS and macrovision, so it can copy most dvds, but as we all know, even DvdShrink (by itself) can do the same thing, and it's entirely incapable of handling any dvd with even a semi-modern copy protection. If the software was capable of dealing with sector-based protections, I'm pretty sure they would have mentioned it as a selling point.

To be honest, I think you would be better off using the freeware that is known to work, and donate a fraction of the price of the other program to the developers of the freeware/donationware.
