Just saw the new Futureshop flyer for this week and the 16X Verbatims are on for $30/100 pc. spool. I haven't tried these yet as there are conflicting reports in the DVD media section on the reliability of these discs but at that low a price, it's worth the gamble. I guess Futureshop has decided to undercut the prices of Staples as they were the only B&M place that I was aware of that sold Verbatim up to now. I wonder if the 150% discount rule is still in effect at Staples? Might be worth it to save even more money...

I went out and bought these DVD's. Recorded something on them. Is it me or does using this media produce better quality DVD recordings?

It's just your imagination if by quality you mean improved picture or sound.

Well I just recorded a 2 hour 47 minute video onto a DVD using my Panasonic ES25 and the picture quality looks like it was done in SP, no graining or spots or flaws anywhere. Now the source is a really good video so maybe thats it.

This media is excellent. I went and bought myself a couple hundred more of these just so I can redo my most important stuff ive done on the Memorex media. Not that there is anything wrong with the Memorex media, in fact my only true reason behind it is that the Verbatium discs are nicer to write on.
