Hi,I am using laptop with Pentium 4 3.2Ghz and 1GB RAM for editing in Premiere Pro and After Effects.
With all pricing cuts on AMD CPU's I'm thinking about a building new comp.
Which CPU would be better for editing and later HDV editing??
Intel E6600 or Athlon 64 X2, or something else??

E6600 if you can find one. And if you don't mind paying the current price premium. Every hardware review site has published benchmarks within the last month. The E6600 almost always beats the A64 X2 5000+.

Motherboards for Core 2 Duo are also expensive right now, about $250.
