I have an AVI file (XviD) which contains 2 sound tracks: normal and commentary. It was made by AutoGK from a DVD. On the computer the file plays with both sound tracks at the same time, no option to select just one of them. Now I'm wandering if the file will play on a regular stand-alone player which has XviD capability, or will both sound tracks be mixed again?
In that case I'd like to remove the commentary track, but I have no idea how: VirtualDub doesn't even recognize the fact that there are 2 sound tracks.

Any help would be very welcome!

I have a number of 2-audio AVIs that play fine on my standalone. I can switch back and forth, with none of that playing-at-the-same-time crap. The only way to know for sure if it works OK on yours is to test it out.

I'll just guess that you're using Windows Media Player. Either use a real player (no, not RealPlayer) such as Media Player Classic, which allows for switching audio tracks, or install something like the Morgan Stream Switcher which will allow you to continue using WMP and to have it play the audio properly.

Thank you very much, Baldrick! AVImux works like a charm: it rewrites the file with a single sound track in no time at all! Great piece of software!
And also thank you very much Manono! That MediaPlayer Classic is just great! You were right: I did use the Windows MediaPlayer. I was reluctant to install yet another player on my machine, but this little gem is great, with all those options!
I have learned a lot today thanks to you both!
